Training and development is the cornerstone of ensuring an effective and sustainable workforce. Programs designed for orientation, job training, and career planning are all essential to productivity of workers and any business success. In the policing community, training is paramount to the delivery of essential services to Canadians.

New recruits require vast amounts of training in order to understand and do their job. Continued job training occurs to keep police personnel current with the skills and knowledge required to meet ever changing technological, legal and crime related issues. Somewhat unique to the business of policing is the use of the Training Academy.
